A Nursery and Floral license is required by each business and at each location where nursery products and/or floral items are sold, offered for sale or leased, distributed, grown for the purpose of sale or lease, or offered as an enticement to promote the sales or lease of other items.
An application for a new certification must be submitted on a form prescribed by the Department. Failure to complete the application form in its entirety may result in denial of the registration. The expiration date of registration certificates will be October 31 of each year. An event permit may be obtained by contacting a regional office designated by the Department at least one day prior to the event.

The Office of the Texas Attorney General created and maintains an extensive Colonia Geographic Database for the border region. The database stores accurate geographic and descriptive data on over 1,800 colonia areas in 29 border area counties. Maps and data from this database are now viewable on-line at this site (start at "Select County" at the left or bottom of this page). Colonia geography includes the location, boundary and area of each colonia, roads serving the community, the internal road network and, in some counties, driveways leading to occupied units. The proximity of colonias to other geographic features as well as their relationship to census geographic units is also displayed. The database stores additional, non-geographic information on colonias collected from various state and local entities. |
